Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW)
Govt. Arya Degree College Nurpur has established the Office of the Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW) to ensure the overall growth of its students in a conducive and constructive learning environment. This office is dedicated to looking after the general welfare of students outside the classrooms, fostering their holistic growth, personality development, and leadership qualities. The DSW office acts as a central hub, promoting cooperation and fellowship among students while encouraging them to maintain harmony and peace across the campus.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Office of the Dean Students’ Welfare
- Ensuring a positive living environment on campus for students.
- Monitoring daily essential support for students’ academic and co-curricular activities.
- Organizing student bodies like the College Students Central Association (CSCA) as per university guidelines.
- Conducting oath-taking ceremonies for the CSCA body and maintaining records of its office bearers and members.
- Advising the student council when necessary.
- Arranging special care for weaker and differently-abled students.
- Developing and executing programs for students’ holistic development.
- Enabling student participation in different college activirties and organizing student-related activities.
- Collaborating with sports officers, and incharges of NCC, NSS, Red Ribbon Club, Scholarship committee, Clubs, and Societies on all student welfare matters.
- Facilitating educational tours and participation in external sports/other activities.
- Promoting healthy student-teacher relationships.
- Providing student counseling.
- Offering student information services.
- Serving as a liaison between college administration and students.
- Issuing certificates as authorized and delegated by the Principal.
- Communicating with parents/guardians of students as needed.
- Reporting to the Principal on students requiring special attention or whose conduct is not in the institution’s best interest.
- Addressing any other student problems related to the college.
