Department Of Music

The Department of Music (Instrumental) was established in the year 2017 with the objective of promoting Indian classical music and developing artistic skills among students. The department offers undergraduate programmes in Instrumental Music and provides comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge of Indian Classical Music.

For first-year students, the department follows the New Education Policy (NEP-2020), offering Major, Minor, Skill Enhancement, Value Added, and Multidisciplinary Courses. The second and third-year students continue their studies under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). The curriculum is designed to provide both theoretical understanding and practical training, enabling students to develop musical proficiency and artistic excellence.

The department emphasizes experiential, skill-based, and learner-centered education through regular practical sessions, seminars and cultural activities. Students are encouraged to participate in youth festivals, competitions, and various cultural events to enhance their performance skills and creative abilities. The department strives to nurture discipline, creativity, and professional competence among students, preparing them for higher studies and careers in the field of music.
