Mental health is an essential part of overall well-being and academic success. Recognising the importance of the emotional and psychological health of students and staff, Government Arya Degree College, Nurpur has constituted a ‘Mental Health (Manodarpan) Counselling Committee’.
Objectives
1. To create awareness about mental health, stress management and emotional well-being.
2. To provide a safe and supportive environment where students can discuss their concerns without fear or stigma.
3. To organize workshops, seminars, counselling sessions and wellness activities.
4. To identify students facing stress, anxiety, or other mental health challenges and guide them to appropriate support.
5. To promote healthy lifestyle habits, peer support and positive campus culture.
Functions
1. Conduct orientation programs to address academic pressure and adjustment issues.
2. Organize guest lectures and expert talks with psychologists and counsellors.
3. Run awareness campaigns on topics like exam stress, substance abuse, depression, and mindfulness.
4. Provide information about helplines and professional counselling services.
5. Coordinate with parents and faculty to support students in need.
The committee believes that a healthy mind leads to better learning, creativity and personal growth. We are committed to building a campus where every student feels heard, valued and supported.
