Within the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) framework, the Department of Political Science has designed a detailed Bachelor of Arts in Political Science that is aimed at providing a strong base in theoretical, comparative, and applied political science. The program spans for three years and comprises of an array of DSC courses, including Introduction to Political Theory, Indian Government and Politics, Comparative Government and Politics, and Introduction to International Relations along with DSE courses like Themes in Comparative Political Theory and Understanding Globalization. Further, the department takes into account the development of skills among its students through the Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC), namely Legislative Support, Public Opinion and Survey Research, Democratic Awareness Through Legal Literacy, and Conflict and Peace Building. Apart from this, Multidisciplinary Courses (MDC) and Generic Electives (GE) have been included in the syllabus such as Society, Economy and Politics in Himachal Pradesh and Human Rights, Gender and Environment, respectively. In addition to all this, the department organizes conferences, seminars, workshops, and field trips for the learners to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
