Department of English

The Department of English caters to the needs of young students of surrounding areas   enabling them to become self-assured and confident. The department aims at providing a conducive climate to the learners of English, training them in written and spoken communication. The English Department initiates interactive teaching in classrooms to enhance the communicative competence of students.The department also conducts  different activities like quiz,seminars,skit,presentations,educational tours for the overall development to the students .The curriculum offers teaching of English Language, Literature and Communication Skills as a Compulsory thereby ensuring that every student of the college is studying English. The major   course exposes students to a wide range of literary texts: beginning with acquiring a strong foundation in classical Indian and Greek literature, students go on to an intensive study of Romantic, Victorian, and Modern literature. The Department is also offering Core Courses, Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses, Skill Enhancement Courses, Discipline Specific Electives courses to students. These courses enable greater holistic adaptability of students to the everyday challenges of the contemporary competitive world apart from satisfying their literal and aesthetic needs. Students are also undergoing courses using language lab set up in the college campus.Faculty members  use creativity with new technology in their teaching by using ICT tools .The Department of English strives to bring about all-encompassing growth in students whereby they are able to carve out a niche for themselves both professionally and as ethically responsible citizens. With the opening of new avenues in different fields the students become socially responsible human beings, sensitive to their fellow beings and nature. English as a  subject inculcation of aesthetic and moral values enabling the students to be generous, compassionate with a streak of creativity to make the world a better place to live in.
