Department of B.Voc Retail Management

Department of B.Voc (Retail Management), established in the year 2017, is one of the leading department of the Govt. Arya Degree College, Nurpur offering Professional and skilled based degree program. This degree program come with multiple entry and exist program. The department has dedicated Trainers for skill training and faculty members. The Qualified and inspiring Trainers and faculty members are passionate about their subjects and use creativity with new technology in their teaching and training. The department maintains high standard of education through periodic tests, Guest lectures, On the Job training (OJT), Field visits, seminars and workshops. The teaching learning process stresses on developing retail skills in the students. Department is using audio video aids, role playing, assignments to train students in classes. The Department of B.Voc. (Retail Management) is an academic unit within institution dedicated to the training, skill building and personality development of learners. This department typically offers a range of skills, from introductory level i.e. level-4&5 of retail sales executive & Team leader , level-5 Deputy Manager and Level-5.5 of Retail Store Manager. Presently, the department has three Trainers for imparting skill training in retail.
- Trainers are often engaged in training of students in their skill level, including collaboration with demonstrations, retail lab, and retail store visits.

- The department is typically made up of faculty with expertise in a wide array of their field like Marketing, retail, often certified with their skill sector (RASCI)

- Many departments foster a strong sense of community through seminars, colloquia, workshops, and conferences that allow students and faculty to share knowledge and collaborate.
Resources:
- Retail Departments typically have access to retail Lab to make them familiar with the retail environment and terms. Computer lab accessibility is also provided to students to impart them presentation preparation and computer skills.

Course Outcome:
After Successful completion of the B.Voc. Retail Management programme, Students will be able to:
- Understand the fundamental of accounting, business communication, and computer applications required for retail and business operations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of retail store operations, sales processes, cashiering, customer service, and post sales service.
- Apply visual merchandising and product display techniques to enhance customer attraction and improve store sales.
- Develop effective communication, leadership, teamwork, and employability skills for professional success in the retail sector.
- Manager retail store operations, inventory supply chain, and customer experience using modern retail management practices.
- Demonstrate entrepreneurial and managerial competencies to pursue careers in retails, sales, marketing, customer relationship management, or start their own business
