The Department of Music, Govt. Arya Degree College, Nurpur organized a 36-hour Add-On Course on Traditional Chamba Rumal Embroidery with the objective of preserving and promoting the rich traditional handicraft of Himachal Pradesh. The course was conducted from 8th October, 2025 to 25th February, 2026. The programme was organized under the able guidance of the Principal, Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur, and was coordinated by Dr. Bharti Bhagsain, Assistant Professor, Department of Music (I). 32 students actively participated in this add-on course. The students received both theoretical and practical training in the traditional techniques, decorative styles, colour combinations, and cultural significance of Chamba Rumal embroidery from Mrs. Dinesh Kumari, President Awardee. Under her expert guidance, the students not only learned the intricate techniques of this unique folk art but also gained knowledge about its historical background and commercial potential.
